Dulcinea does not have combat training nor does she ever have intention of setting foot on a battlefield. She certainly has stabbed out of self-defense when it was called for.
Education:
Not formally educated. Dulci had to find ways to learn skills and the time to practice them whilst struggling to avoid living in the streets.
She did have a mentor from the orphanage that taught her the basics of drawing and painting.
Magic:
Dulci has the abilities of magic native to manthir proving that at least one of her parents was from manthir. She has spent much time learning to use this gift to enhance her natural features. Or make interesting designs that allow her to stand out.
Personality:
Dulicnea is as dramatic as she is fiesty. She has had the claw her way to the life of luxury that she has now and refuses for something like her low birth to stop her from having the finest of everything.
She is to some welcome arms and a friendly ear and to others a vicious snake ready to poison any in her way.
History:
Dulcinea was the product of some sailor and an unknown woman docked at the port of Farvald. Her mother likely died in childbirth or shortly thereafter. her father either out of disregard or because he was not permitted to take her, abandoned her at the port when the ship set sail. In Farvald this is not an uncommon occurrence. Sailors often pay for company while docked or bring with them those who bought their passage with their body. Thus such unwanted children end up abandoned in the streets.
There exists an orphanage not far from the port run out of a temple to the East Wind. While most devote their praise to the south wind in Farvald for obvious reasons this temple of the Phoenix looks after some of the cities most destitute and forgotten. It was here that dulcinea was taken in and raised on the scraps of charity. Something she greatly resented.
She learned the fundamentals of painting while helping and apprenticing under one of the caretakers at the temple. Helping maintain the temple's murals. The temple was known to toss children back onto the street with a small portion of rations once they hit thirteen. so Dulci knew early on that she would need to find a job as soon as possible to avoid being forced into the brothels like many of the other girls.
Dulci managed to stay on at the temple a bit longer than normal by taking care of the younger kids and sucking up to the temple caretakers. Strangely her first employment was with the brothel but not as a worker. She came up with an ingenious scheme of making varnished coal drawings of popular girls on cards and selling them to sailors to keep them 'company' on long voyages. They made quite a splash and attracted enough attention to earn her employment and patronage from a wealthy merchant.
Under his patronage she expanded the card business to also include more elaborate pieces for wealthy merchants. It was through these pricier full oil paintings that Dulci built her reputation as a reliable woman who could discreetly fill risque commissions of high quality.
It was this reputation and a few works painted for one of Farvald's premier brothel owner that led Ducli to meeting the ultimate patron. Severin Seigrun. A man with deep pockets and interesting if a bit warped taste.
Dulcinea was quick to move into his estate and at only 18 she found herself in a life more luxurious then she had ever imagined. She has since trained several artists under her to take the sort of commissions she once jumped at and can now be truly discerning about who and what she paints.
On more than one occasion she has painted works which if she spoke about to the wrong noble would upend some houses.
She sometimes travels as a friend and companion alongside Severin.
